Veterinary Diet for Cats with Urinary Stones/Crystals
Dissolves struvite crystals Helps dissolve all types of struvite crystals while diluting urine, which reduces the risk of crystal formation.
Lower mineral content The diet helps reduce the concentration of minerals in urine that contribute to crystal formation.
Low RSS value RSS (Relative Supersaturation) is a technique used to assess the risk of crystal formation in urine. The lower the RSS value, the lower the risk of urinary crystal formation.
Indications For struvite crystals, dissolution of struvite urinary stones, and prevention of further crystal formation. Also helps prevent recurrent calcium oxalate crystal formation.
Nutritional composition The diet contains 34.5% protein, 15.0% fat, 2.9% fiber, 0.9% calcium, 0.9% phosphorus, 1.3% sodium, 2.26% chloride, 1% potassium, 0.05% magnesium, 0.7% sulfur. Total taurine: 0.23%. Urinary acidifying agents: calcium sulfate 1.25% and DL-methionine 0.39%. EPA and DHA: 0.37%.
Additional guidance Regular monitoring of urine, including pH measurements, is recommended while using this diet to ensure pH levels do not become too high, as this can vary between individual cats.
