Reduced protein content Lower protein levels help limit the formation of cystine urinary stones.
Skin support Supports the skin’s natural defenses with long-chain fatty acids EPA and DHA.
Recommended use For dogs with leishmaniasis under treatment, including xanthine oxidase therapy. Preventive use for recurrent urinary problems caused by urate, xanthine, and cystine.
Nutritional composition Protein: 18.0%, Fat: 15.0%, Fiber: 2.2%, Total sulfur amino acids: 0.89%, Sodium: 0.3%, Potassium: 0.9%, Chloride: 0.55%, Sulfur: 0.3%. Urinary acidifying agents: Calcium carbonate: 1.77%, Potassium citrate: 0.2%.
Additional guidance Regular monitoring of urine, including pH measurements, is recommended while using this diet to ensure pH levels do not become too high, as this can vary between individual dogs.
Duration of use Urinary U/C (Low Purine) can be fed for up to 6 months to reduce urate stone formation, up to 1 year to reduce cystine stone formation, and longer in cases of chronic or irreversible urinary metabolic disorders. Decisions regarding long-term use should be made in consultation with a veterinarian.
